Modern IT provides many tools for presentation, such as "desktop publishing" via wordprocessor, and lecture presentation tools like Powerpoint
But don't use technology (fades, moving text, colored text, fancy fonts) for itself
Reasons for using attention-getting features
- Emphasis within a point
- Attract attention to important points
- Impose organization (e.g., to hide a "surprise" conclusion)
- In one word: clarify!
Overuse distracts and annoys the audience
- Especially in combination with too much content!
