Worker's control vs. partnership
Next Previous Up Top
- Worker's control is not partnership
- Legal existence of firm
- In partnership, the firm is a contract among the partners, but has
no legal existence; you cannot sue it, make contracts with it,
etc. Rather the partners assume joint responsibility, and have
unlimited liability.
- In worker control, the firm is legal entity, and worker liability
is limited.
- Ownership
- In a partnership, the ownership of capital is by the individual
partners
- In worker control, assets are owned by the firm (or the state)
- Governance
- Up to the partners, and can change ad hoc as partners can leave
at any time
- Decided by law and the articles of incorporation
