Constrained by Reality
Next Previous Up Top
- The reality may be physical: you can't go faster than the speed of
light, for example, or view the history of the future. (In science
fiction, which is art, both are commonplace.)
- It may be historical. Your explanations must use and not contradict
known facts.
- In art, whether to obey such constraints is the artist's choice.
Even though the artist's medium is physically constrained, the art
may create an illusion that such constraints are violated.
- This is not permissible in research.
