現在帰省等で国外にいる方は帰国する予定日を教えてください。特に２年生！

下記のように２年生の発表時間割（案）ができています。発表者に不都合なら
至急に連絡してください。調整はできるだけ早く行いたいという依頼が来てい
るので。

基本的に全員（ターンブルの指導生）が全セッションに出席する義務を付け、
出欠をとります。授業等の予定とぶつかる場合にはその時間帯と内容（科目名、
バイト先等）を事前に教えること。注意：途中の出入りは非常に失礼な行動と
見なさり、遅刻なしで、セッションが終わるまで席に着きましょう。

明日のゼミですが、中間発表に向けて２年生の発表を行います。すでにゼミで
話したが、皆さんの引用文献リストが少な過ぎると判断しているので、３０件
まで増やして提出（私にそのリストを送ること）してもらうことにしました。
各件の形ですが、普通に種類によって出版情報（全著者の氏名、タイトル、出
版年月日、URL、雑誌、等々）と、自分の研究との関係の一文。今まで報告し
たリストを３０件に含むのですが、（現）と（新）のマークで区別すること。

明日の発表練習についてその（新）の数件からより深く勉強すべく３件を選ん
で各件について以下のl点を短く説明する。

1.  タイトル
2.  全著者（所属を含む）　注意：中国なら、所属機関の評判：国際的な競争
    力あり、中国内に優秀、その他
3.  研究の目的
    a.  どんな人によく役立つか（研究者、行政、経営者、学
        生、一般人などの中から一つ）
    b.  求められた研究結果
4.  研究の方法
    a.  理論（どういう因果関係が含まれているかを具体的に）
    b.  データ（収集方法、サンプルサイズ、a のモデルに重要役割のある変数）
    c.  データ分析方（SEM、重回帰分析、SVM等々）
    d.  理論的な分析なら、その方法
5.  主な研究結果
6.  研究結果の科学的または社会的異義（目的につなぐこと）
7.  自分の研究への一番重要な関係（データ、分析方法等）

量については、１〜３はPPTの一枚に抑えれるはずで、４、５は１枚ずつ、そ
して６〜７は１枚におさえらると考えるべきです。それ以上があれば、おおざっ
ぱに重要な点だけに絞ればよいです。専門用語をそのままでよい、説明不要。
全ての点をリストアップして、順番でトップスリーを選択することも不要。
PPTを用意するかどうかは自分で決めてもよいです。PPTの枚数はあくまで「量」
を推測する例と思ってもよいです。（注意：私はぎっしりした密度の高いスラ
イドは好きじゃないことを覚えているよね？）

In the table in the Japanese part is the proposed schedule for the midterm
presentation on October 16.  If you are scheduled to present but it is
very inconvenient for you, contact me immediately.  Adjustments can be
made but the sooner the better.

I require all my advisees to attend all sessions, and will be taking
attendance.  If you have a conflict with a class or something, contact
me soon, and let me when it is difficult to attend, and why (the name
of the class, where your part-time job is, etc).  Note: It is
considered VERY RUDE to enter and leave the seminar room in the middle
of the session.  Show up by the scheduled time, and stay in your seat
until the students are asked to leave.

For the content of tomorrow's presentation, from the (NEW) items pick
three that seem most worthy of deeper study, and explain the following
points.

1.  Title
2.  All authors (including affiliations)  Note: if the institutions
    are Chinese, please mention their reputation: "internationally
    competitive", domestically considered "excellent", and "other".
3.  Goals of the research
    a.  What is the audience that would benefit from reading this
        paper?  (Pick one from other researchers, government policy
        makers, managers, students, general citizens, and so on.)
    b.  What research results are expected?
4.  Research methodology
    a.  Theory (explain concretely what cause-effect relations are
        included)
    b.  Data (collection method, sample size, important variables and
        their relation to the model in a.)
    c.  Data analysis method (SEM, multiple regression analysis, SVM,
        etc.)
    d.  In the case of theoretical research, explain the method.
5.  The main research results obtained
d6.  The implications and importance of the results for the research
    field and/or society
7.  The most important relation of this research to your own (data,
    research methodology, etc.)

Quantitatively, if you were to format a PPT presentation, points 1--3
should fill about 1 page, 4 and 5 get about 1 page each, and 6--7
should fit on one page.  If there's more than that that you could say,
pick important points, and state them briefly.  You don't need to
explain technical terms, and you don't need to list all the possible
upoints in rank order and pick the top three.  Whether to create a PPT
is up to you.  I mention it here to give an idea of quantity.
(Remember that I don't like dense slides!)
