皆さん

今週のゼミは木曜日３４時限に開催します。ただし、一人は授業があるので来
週火５６または木５６に移る（一人ずつが授業）可能性があります。

樋田くん、岡村くん：ゼミに参加するのが義務です。（今回授業があるなら欠
席は許可します。）このメッセージをよんだら確認のため、返事してください。

今週のゼミはすでに説明したが、Ｍ２の発表練習となります。なお、今回の発
表は１５分ごと変わるのでたぶん８分発表・６分討論／質疑・１分入れ換えと
なると思います。資料のフォーマットは本番同様にすること。内容はできる部
分を本番と同じように資料を作って発表すればよい。背景、先行研究の本筋、
方法／データ、参考文献リストぐらいがもうできたはずです。結果の大部分が
できなかった場合、本番の結果報告ではなくて状況報告にすること。つまり、
できた結果とまだ期待できる結果のリスト、結果を得ることへの障害、いつで
きなかった結果が出るか、そして本番までできなさそう結果とその対応の説明
にすればよい。なお、その資料（PPT）の分は同じようにする。

以下は本研究室の学生の中間発表時間割です。全ては出席義務（当てはまる時
限の全部）が付くのでよろしくお願いします。TWINSに授業が登録された場合
こちらでチェックして許すが他に予定があれば１０月１４日（月）まで相談し
なければ欠席許可を得ないと欠席扱いになります。事前に互いに相談して先生
方への直接配布など雑務の担当を決めてもらいたい。必要ではないが、ある学
生が先生（審査員３名と他の先生２〜５名）のために2-upまたは4-upのカラー
印刷物を用意して手渡し、学生の分は１０部ぐらいの4-upまたは6-upの白黒印
刷物を用意します。の発表者はパソコンをもって設置する以外は別のゼミ生が
担当すること。

Hi everyone,

This week's Zemi will be on Thursday in 3rd-4th periods.  However, one
student has class at that time, so perhaps in the following weeks we
may change to Tuesday 5th-6th or Thursday 5th-6th (also with one
student each in class).

Mr. Toida, Mr. Okamura: attendance at Zemi is required.  (This week
those with scheduled classes will be excused for absence.)  When you
read this message, please confirm by replying in email.

As previously explained, this week we will continue with the M2
presentation practice.  The schedule is divided into 15-minute
periods, so I guess there will be 8 minutes for presentation, 6
minutes for discussion and questions, and 1 minute for changing
presenters.  The format of your slides should be the same as you plan
to use for your midterm presentation.  For those parts where you have
completed the work, use the same content as you would for the real
presentation, and prepare slides accordingly.  By now this should
include the research's background, the mainline of previous research
leading to your research, your methodology and data, and reference
list at least.  Where you have at most partial results, instead of
presenting the partial work, present a "situation report": a list of
results you have achieved already and those you expect to achieve, any
difficulties you need to solve to get the remaining expected results,
when you expect to get the remaining results, and if there are results
you won't achieve by the midterm presentation, how you plan to address
that problem.  For partial results, please prepare your slides to
match the material you are presenting (lists of results, not details;
problems to be solved; when the results will be available; and issues
that won't be resolved by the midterm presentation.

The schedule for our students is listed above.  If your examiners are
not your AG, you should look up their fields, and it's ok to ask me
about their personalities.  TESSA, professor's home pages, and the
Shako faculty index may be helpful resources.

Attendance is mandatory for all members.  Enter at the beginning of
the period and stay until the end.  You will be excused if you have a
class registered in TWINS for that period.  If you have other
commitments, you must clear them with me by Monday 10/14, or you will
be counted absent.  Before the presentation, please consult about
distributing the printed material to all professors present (typically
3 examiners + 2-5 more).  It is not required, but many students
prepare colored printouts (2- or 4-up) for the professors.  For
student attendees, normally about 10 copies of 4- or 6-up are prepared
and left on the desk near the door, or distributed by hand by other
members of the Zemi.  *The only responsibility of the presenter should
be to carry their PC and present.*
