定例ゼミ（水曜日午後に開催）と別に入試準備勉強会を開きたいと思います。留
学生支援委員会（社工ISSC）は今回も数学・経済・経営・ファイナンスなどを教
える勉強会を開く予定だと思うのでそちらに参加すべきだとも思うが、入試戦
略などについて勉強すべきだとも思います。

「戦略」とは以下の点などを意味する：

・日本人と比べて留学生が英語（TOEFL、TOEICなど）で高い点数をとる。入試
　までスコアを高めるか（注意：入試満点にはTOEBL pBTの900満点ではなく、
　約750点で十分だ！）を考えましょう。

・小論文問題の考え方。

・過去の専門問題から今度の問題の予測ができるのか。

・面接のための準備。

などなのです。

２月の入試を狙っている研究生から

1.  現在の研究計画。

2.  現在の時間割（日本語授業、その他の聞き取り授業、アルバイト、その他
    の定期的かつ予定が変更しにくい活動を含む）。時間に何をしているか
    （科目番号、アルバイト先、活動の説明）も不可欠。注意：原則として何
    をしているか構いません。君の選択を尊重しています。ただし、全員の都
    合の良い時間が見当たらなかったら優先順位（例：日本語授業）がありま
    す。 

3.  現在提出できる英語のスコアと英語試験を受験する予定の有無。

4.  自己評価：入試にできそうとできなさそうな部分。

5.  自分が現在理解している勉強課題。

をメールで明日のゼミの終わりまで教えてください。

明日のゼミ後に相談して予定を決めたいと思います。

In addition to the regular Wednesday afternoon zemi, I think it's a
good idea to have a regular study group for the students preparing for
the February entrance examination.  The International Students support
committee of DPPS plans to provide the usual tutorials for mathematics,
economics, management, finance, and so on as far as I know.  You
should participate in these, of course, but I think it will also be
useful to have a more strategically-oriented study group as well.

By "strategic" I mean the following kinds of points:

- Compared to Japanese students, international students generally do
  substantially better on the English component (TOEFL, TOEIC, etc).
  Can you improve your English score?  (Note that to get full credit
  for English on the entrance exam you do NOT need a top score of
  900 on TOEFL pBT, you only need about 750.)

- How to answer the short essay question.

- How much you can predict this exam's special field questions from
  the old exams, and what to expect in them.

- How to prepare for the examination interview.

And similar things.

Those who are preparing for the February examination should send me
the following things by email:

1.  Your current research plan.

2.  Your current schedule (including Japanese class, any classes you
    are auditing, part-time job, and any other regular activities that
    are hard to reschedule).  Please include *what* they are (class
    number, place of part-time job, description of other activities).
    In principle, I don't care what you do with your time, I want to
    respect that.  But if we can't find a common convenient time, some
    things (like Japanese class) get higher priority.

3.  Your current best English score that you plan to submit when
    applying for the entrance examination.

4.  Your self-evaluation of the examination components you are least
    and most worried about.

5.  Your own current study goals and tasks as you understand them.
