- Agnes Chan is not quite a native speaker.
- Treating a person as a "thing" is not only an infringement of human
rights, but can be taken as abuse.
- A native speaker would probably say "... is also abuse."
- Not a lot of women will take the risk.
- A native speaker would probably say "Lots of women will not take
the risk."
- He simply is not someone that future mothers want to put their
trust in.
- A native speaker would probably say "He simply is not someone that
future mothers would want to trust."
Very fine points. But note:
- Only when women know that there is support for child-rearing,
genuine human love in society, and proof that their children or they
will not be treated as a "thing", will they feel safe to become a mother.
- Failure of number agreement ("they" vs. "a mother") is
idiomatic.
